So this is Christmas...

... Seriously, that was it!?

Got to be honest with you all, my Christmas wasn't brilliant this year. It just didn't feel like Christmas to me. It was just another day in December.

Wow, I sound like such a scrooge!

I'm definitely not being ungrateful, don't get me wrong. I just think I'm getting old and all the hype surrounding it just wasn't there for me this year. Gone are the days of being a kid, waking up way before I should and running into my parents room with my sack shouting that Santa's been!

Anyways, I had a great day today. I finally got to see my gorgeous nephew once again. I can't believe how much he's grown since the last time I saw him!

Such a handsome boy!

And I can't wait until next week because I get to see him again!!

What an interesting night...

Well, what can I say?

In all honesty, last night was pretty cool.

It all started with a spur of the moment idea that we (being me, my housemates and Dave) should all go to the pub. So that we did and got pretty merry in the space of a couple of hours, but decided the party shouldn't stop there!

We got back to our house and continued the drinking, although I was sensible and stuck to cider. The boys however, were not. After drinking cider and lager in the pub, they then came back and each had a vodka, lemonade and lime, shots of sambuca and some of my cider!

Whilst all this drinking was going on, we were also playing a few drinking games. First was drinking Uno followed by spoons. It was all going fine, until for some reason we decided to bend the spoons and throw them at each each. This ended badly for Nick as he ended up with a lovely looking cut above his eye. Needless to say we stopped playing after that!

The night ended with both of the boys throwing up in the garden! I looked after Dave, while Katie and Pim took Nick for a walk to the beach! Despite Dave not actually living with us, I would not let him go home in the state he was in, so I offered the other half of my bed to the poor guy, and I finally got to sleep at half 3 this morning!

So much drama all for a spur of the moment thing!

September has been and gone...

Seriously, time seems to go so fast when you have nothing to do! So much has happened in this month, so this is going to be a long post!!

First things first, I moved into my new house!! Yay! I absolutely love it here in Swansea and basically, I never want to leave! I don't think me and my housemates could have picked a nicer house to live in, in all honesty! (Note to self, stop using so many exclamation marks! Oops.)

Right, what was next? Oh yes, I had an audition for the BBC National Chorus of Wales and got in! I've wanted to be in this choir since I was about 17, but only got around to auditioning a couple of weeks ago. I'm so glad I have done now though because we have some great concerts coming up, including Messiah!

Only a few days ago I was sitting in a tent for two days getting freshers to sign up to the choral society in uni! Now that our first rehearsal is looming tomorrow, I've no idea what to expect. I'll know how all the new people will be feeling because I was in their position last year. Hopefully, we can keep as many people as possible to make the choir as great as possible!

And while all of this has been going on, someone has came into my life and left just as quickly. Not that I wanted him to leave, but he had to go to university on the opposite side of the country (well, North Wales to be exact!) The few short weeks I spent with him were great and I will never forget them, and I hope he won't either. I don't think I'm ever going to meet a guy as nice tbh!

Now finally, only yesterday it was my birthday! I'm am now no longer a teenager, which I suppose means I should really start acting like an adult! I had a great day, and an even better night which did result in me passing out on my sofa, only for me to wake up a hour later to find everyone had gone to bed! But there are plenty of beautiful pictures that were taken!

My scrummy birthday cake. White chocolate and raspberry!

MY BALLOON!!!

The birthday girl!

Ooohhhh, purdy!

Where has summer gone...?

I honestly feel like I haven't had a summer this year, mainly because I've been so busy!

As you all know I became an aunty 2 and a half weeks ago, and the arrival of the bundle of joy just happened to coincide with the exam resits I had to do. Not helpful at all.

So Reegan was born on the Monday and then I had an exam on the Wednesday! Needless to say that didn't go brilliantly. But the other three I had the week after went awesomely (in my opinion), so hopefully I've done enough to pass my first year!

I'm also extremely excited to move into my new student house on Monday. I mean I've already started paying rent for it, so I would like to live in the house I'm paying for.

I do have another reason to want to be in Swansea so soon, but that's my secret, that you, as readers, will have to wait if you want to find out what it is!

But for now, here's a picture of me and my friends at our local cricket club's fun day!

I have a Nephew!!

Eeeeeeeeee!! I'm so excited!! (If you hadn't already figured!)

Reegan was born on Monday, and he is the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen. I love him to bits already!

I'm a very proud Aunty!

I want to cuddle him forever!!

National Youth Choir of Wales 2012

So my favourite time of the year has been and gone already. *sob*

I don't really know what to say really except this years course was AWESOME!! Hmmm, that seems to be my favourite word at the moment!

Anyways, I don't think I should describe the whole week to you all, I can just show you with pictures!
Here are the more 'formal' photos I took: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.389039504497371.90304.371001882967800&type=3

Also, on Monday I performed in the BBC Proms again! This year we did the Bernstein Mass. It's currently still available on BBC iPlayer until Monday here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01ljk67/BBC_Proms_2012_Season_Prom_32_Bernstein_Mass/ and it will be shown on BBC4 on the 6th of September at 7:30pm.
Just to tease you all before then here are a few previews of what you should all be looking forward to:

I also have the exciting news that I'm going to be an aunty before next week, but I will keep you all informed! :)

I'm alive...

...don't worry!!

Yes, I'm still here. Well, here, being my bed in Newport. So that can only mean I've moved out of my humble abode in Swansealand.
Never seen my room looking so clean!
Bye house 52!
I have been meaning to write a post for a while, but of course, I've been being lazy!!

In other news though, my university choir won society of the year!! To you, it may not seem like an interesting thing, but it meant so much to us! Now that I'm vice-president next year, I've been told that we've got a lot to live up to!

Also, I have a job!!! I probably tell you every year that I go to Birmingham with my choir. Well this year, I'm still going with them, but I'm also working there too! I can't wait!

This was just a little hello, to let you all know I'm still breathing! If you haven't got anything to do, can I suggest you all like my new page please? I will love you all forever! https://www.facebook.com/RhianElizabethPhotography

No more exams...

Yay!!

I only had 3 exams this terms all within a week. To be honest I did the same that I always do with all my exams and left revision until the last minute! Oops!

Ahh well, they're all over now and I literally have nothing to do, apart from a few resits in August!

Basically my life for the next few months involves a lot of singing and getting drunk. Not a good combination, but do I look like I care?!

I am however bored already, which isn't surprising at all. I'm going to need to find something to do when I'm not being hungover!! So if you don't hear from me for a few months, I'd suggest sending out a search party!

The Queen came to Ebbw Vale...

...And I stood a metre away from her!!

Can't express in words what an amazing experience today was.

I was lucky enough to sing with the the Greater Gwent Youth Choir when Her Majesty and Prince Philip came to open the Gwent Archives. And I was lucky enough to have a solo!

After we had finished singing the Queen said, under her breath, 'That was delightful.' But Prince Philip can't seem to go anywhere without saying something stupid. He asked me and a few other girls stood in the front row, 'Can you get blisters on your vocal chords? Because if you can, you've probably got them.' I couldn't help but laugh at that to be honest.
After her maj had left, we were told that she wants a recording of the two songs we sung to her!

The choir would be nothing without these two. Alyson Jones and Nick Steel
I am there, behind Aly!!
I think this was taken during my solo!
Love all these guys!

I don't look like a lesbian...

...but I have had my hair cut. Short!

Teehee! To be fair I've always liked the idea of short hair, and I'm so glad I've actually had it lopped off now. Although I do occasionally forget I've had it cut but then I catch myself in the mirror and I can't help smiling. Is that a bit weird, I think it is!?

One of my friends did like me to this site though. I found it quite amusing! http://lesbianswholooklikejustinbieber.tumblr.com/

Thursday 12 April 2012

The Easter bunny came...

...but I only got one egg! *sad face*
Hahah, I do make myself laugh sometimes!

But anyway, I've just realised how long it's been (again) since I've been on here. I need to stop doing this!

Soooo, what's happened since my last post?

  • Well, my tattoo has healed completely, but I'm starting to get a bug and I already want another one!
  • I've moved my uni room around again (not that you guys actually care!)
  • I believe I may have messed things up with a certain person *sigh*
  • I'm currently procrastinating (and have been for the last 2 weeks) because I have revision and coursework to do!

I just thought I'd let you all know I'm still alive.

In other news, here are some pictures of me pulling stupid faces. Only joking, they're the faces I pull when I sing!
Chins!
Make what you like of this one!
I can open my mouth the widest!!
Enjoying myself wayyyyy to much here!

Tattoo...

Yes, after almost a year of thinking about it, I finally got my tattoo done yesterday. What do you think...?

How cool is this...

I found a website that makes these videos for you. This is the last 3 and a half years of my life in pictures. Enjoy.

I hate exams...

There is only one thing I don't like about Christmas and New Year: the exams that follow them in January.

I got back to uni on Saturday, and I had my first exam yesterday. It didn't go as badly as I thought, but I'm really not looking forward to the one I have tomorrow. As you can see, I'm using my time wisely... Procrastination is a bitch!

But anyways, I did have a lovely Christmas. I've realised that it isn't as exciting when you get older, but that doesn't bother me really. I had a great day with my dad, brother and his girlfriend, and as always we went to our local pub for lunch, which was amazing.
Jess, Rhys and Me
My dad and Me (I was slightly tipsy at this point!)
Clearly someone was tired after their food!
Another great thing about being home was I got to see all my friends! Yes, two of them may be in Swansea with me, but it was lush to see everyone else. We basically went to the pub every evening. We're students, what do you expect!?

And then came New Year's Eve. Now I wasn't out drinking with my friends like most people would have expected, no, I was working in said pub where we spend all our time. Not that I was complaining though. I earned myself a nice £70, which I basically spent straight away. I didn't mean to though!!

I think I have procrastinated enough for one day. My materials exam is at 2pm tomorrow, and I know nothing for it. Thank God for summer resits! Although, maybe I might try to learn something...
