Merry Christmas... (I don't know why the font has changed colour?!)

Well, I suppose i should say it really! Merry Christmas everyone!

I've got to say though, something has been different about this Christmas. Maybe it's because I'm finally growing up and don't find it exciting any more. Or maybe it's just because I haven't got into the spirit of Christmas. If I'm going to be honest with myself, I have seemed a bit distant from everything for a while now, and I'm not quite sure why. And I know, I shouldn't be spending all day on here when I have exams in January, that I will most probably fail if I don't start revising soon.

But in other news (if you can call it that), I did this thing on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, to find out what people actually thing of me. Basically you send them a number as a private mail, and then they post a status about you using that number. So no one knows who the person you are writing about it (except the person themselves of course!).

These are some of the responses I got from some of my friends:

1. you are a très talented singer! :):) and I'm umm thoroughly looking forward to next week :| muhahaha! Break a leg mofo!

2. we should talk more, i do miss talking to you and yes i did enjoy that afternoon :) I wish i had someone to de ice my car whilst im in bed in the morning. thats when i get another one XD

3. i've known you from the very start of primary and since then we've gone through a lot. :) love always, but I am never playing T and D with you again

4. your a really good singer and always helpful with music and bands and stuff also nice and funny some times :P :L

These did make me smile, a lot if I'm going to be honest.

Just to finish off, I thought I would just say Happy New Year to you all, seeing as I probably won't be on here until after then!

Photoshoot update...

So my usual readers will have seen the post about the photoshoot I did for the National Youth Choir of Wales.

I have recently found more material from it, so I just thought I would post it on here.

The Blanks were in town...

...well Swansea, but still, they were AMAZING!!

And if you don't know who they are, then you should be ashamed! I'm joking, but seriously, how do you not know who they are?

http://www.theblankswebsite.com/

They are the 4-man a cappella group from Scrubs and I went to see them on Saturday night. All I can say is WOW!

Should I be worried yet?...

Well, something weird happened to me last weekend when I was with the boyfriend. I'm not going to divulge into details, but there is something I'm hoping happens this weekend that I don't usually like looking forward to.

In other news however, I'm going to see The Blanks on Saturday! And if you don't know who they are, they are Ted's Barbershop Quartet from Scrubs. Some of my friends are so jealous, and are cursing me for not telling them about the gig. Teehee! I shall post some pictures as well when I get the time.

Short post today, but I just thought I would update to let you know that I am still alive! (Not that I have anyone out there who reads this!)

18...

Yes! I'm finally 18! But if I have to be honest, it doesn't feel any different!

I woke up Wednesday morning, opened my bedroom door and almost got decapitated by my 'Happy 18th Birthday' banner that my parents had put across the doorframe! I picked up my presents that had been left outside the door and proceeded to open them.
I got a pretty cool strapless check dress and my mum gave me her charm bracelet from when she was 18. I got a lot of money as well and some jewellery off my brother.

Tonight I'm going out for a meal with my amazing boyfriend and four of my mates, and then tomorrow we are going to town for another of my friend's birthdays!

Turkey...

... nom nom nom!

No, this post is not going to be about the food!

I went to Turkey for my summer holiday this year with my mum for 2 weeks, and to be fair, it was lush!

Well despite...

  • Finding out the day I got there, the bin lorry had hit my car!
  • Getting hit in the lip playing water polo, leaving me with a lovely scab for a week!
  • Having a horrible cold and sore throat for nearly the whole time I was there.
  • And on my last day there, I got stung by a wasp when I was lying on my lilo in the pool, minding my own business!
But, despite all that, I did get a pretty lush tan!

This is the damage caused to my baby...

Goodbye voice, see you soon...

Now you are probably wondering what the title is on about. Well I shall tell you!

Ok, well since the last time I was on here, I have done a number of concerts, which at the moment I can't be bothered to count!

The first one was in Cardiff for my county's annual summer showcase. I was singing with two choirs in this. One was the youth choir combined with the gospel choir (who we didn't particularly like!), and the other was us with about 200 primary school children singing a medley that we would be performing in the national Eisteddfod. This concert is always good, and means a day off school!

The next day, just the youth choir went to Birmingham to perform in the Music for Youth festival. We have been there for the past four years without success at winning an award, even though numerous people have said that we have deserved one. Thankfully, our performance this year was good enough for us to win an award! This could mean that we get to perform in the Royal Albert Hall in November in the school's proms!

The next voice killer was the National Youth Choir of Wales summer course in Malvern. I have to say, it was a brilliant week, and I love this choir and doing these courses, but unless you pace yourself, you will have no voice by the end of the week. Thankfully, I had learnt from last year, and didn't push my voice as much, and this resulted in three amazing concerts, and the last one is always emotional for everyone. And I've also gotten quite close to one of the guys from the choir. Even though he was on the course last year as well, we only got to know each other well this year, but I'm not complaining. Anyway, I can't wait to see everyone again in October for the Swansea Festival!

The National Youth Choir of Wales 2010

My voice was, not surprisingly, tired after the course. But last week, I had more rehearsals. This time for the National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale. This is something that happens every year in Wales, and this year, my county were lucky enough to host is. Because we are hosting it though, this means we have to put on a concert to show off basically! I was part of the massed choir that performed the medley in Cardiff, and it was an amazing experience to perform there!

And finally, the last thing to kill my voice was singing at my music teacher's wedding. She wanted the school's chamber choir to perform, and of course we said yes. We only had to do three songs, but with an average of four people to each part, it was going to be interesting. Thankfully, with a lot of rehearsals, we pulled it off, and all the guest came up to us afterwards and said we sounded amazing!

It's been a while...

So, I haven't done one of these for almost a week now, but I have found out that someone actually reads this! I would just like to say thank you to that person/those people!

My week has been all right, had my physics PH2 exam on Wednesday, which I thought I was going to fail, but I didn't actually find it that bad. There were a few questions that left me a bit baffled, but I did only really look at my notes the day before!

And then yesterday I had my last exam, mechanics! I found nearly all of it quite simple. But there were 2 questions I just couldn't remember how to answer! Ah well, they are all over now!

But last night was amazing!! I got unbelievably drunk, but I don't care! I had an awesome time, and was glad I spent it with my mates!

200 miles...

is a long way.

Sometimes the most simple things come between you and the one you want to be with.

And to be honest, I hate it.

He knows who he is and if he reads this, he will know how I feel.

I would just love a cuddle... please.

Choices...

Sometimes trying to make the right one in life can be so difficult. And I'm finding this out at the moment.

There are many people that I like or like me, but trying to chose between them at the moment is such a hard decision.

I won't name names, because that wouldn't be very fair at all, but there are 2 girls and 4 guys.

The 2 girls are nice enough, one of them is from school and has recently admitted quite a few things to me and we are getting closer. The other girl I find really attractive, and she knows how I feel about her, but I'm not sure she feels the same way. Anyway, we get to spend a week together in the summer so I'll see how things go then.

And then there are these 4 guys.

Guy 1 is from school, and I have told him that I like him, although he didn't say whether he liked me back or not. Although some of the girls reckon that he does. However much I like him though, we are in completely different friendship groups, so the only time we see each other is in lessons.

Guy 2 I know from various music things. He is 4 years older that me, and I agree that he is lovely. I'm pretty sure that he likes me (considering he asked me to flash on webcam), but we never see each other. And however much we like each other, I don't think it would work.

Guy 3 I know from choir. He is a lovely guy, but he has one major drawback, he has a girlfriend, and it has been the same one for at least 3 years. However much he may love this girl though, he thinks it is all right to also ask me to flash on webcam. Of course I refused, and reminded him about the fact that he has a girlfriend. He didn't seem to really care, and then pursued in asking me for cyber sex. I didn't really see what harm this could do so I agreed, but he kept wanting to turn his cam on so I could see what he was doing, and I kept refusing. He also keeps talking about what he would do to me if he was single, but I keep telling him it doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon.

And finally Guy 4. We met last year when we were on holiday in Ibiza. We didn't really talk much when we both got back home, but we have recently both been talking again because he wanted to tell me how much he liked me, but he couldn't because we were both in relationships at the time. I do quite like this guy, probably not as much as he likes me at the moment, but that can change over time. There is only one thing stopping us from being together. The fact that he lives on the other side of the country about 200 miles away. The only way we would ever see each other would be if his football team came here and he would follow them, or if we met in the middle of the country somewhere. But all we've got at the moment is webcams to talk to each other, which is OK, but never as good as physical contact.

So these are the decisions in my life at the moment. Complicated, I know.
But I need to try and forget about all of this until my exams are over. Which is only next week, then I can go back to trying to figure out what to do.
Ah well, hopefully I will make the right decision.

Dewi Sant...

On March 1st, I did a concert in St. David's Hall in Cardiff to perform Karl Jenkins' Dewi Sant (it's welsh for St. David).

I have made videos containing pictures from the rehearsals and there is the recording that was on BBC Radio Cymru. They are in the order that they were performed. Enjoy!

2 down, 3 to go...

I am so glad today is almost over with. I shall explain...

I had one of my maths exams this morning, C2, which is quite a nice one because you get to use a calculator! So I wasn't complaining! I was up quite early this morning learning proofs for arithmetic and geometric series and for logarithms. Sounds complicated? Well it's not really.
Thankfully, the ones I could do quite well came up, so that has gained me 6 marks that I know of. There were also some other questions which I can find difficult, which appeared to be quite easy, but my grade will prove all!

And so to this afternoon.
I had my physics PH1 resit, because I felt the C I got in January wasn't as good as I could have actually got. But the paper in January was really hard. Proof... only 2 people in my year got an A on the paper, and I was one of about 10 people that got a C or above!
I completely forgot about the fact I was resitting this exam until about last week. But even though I did forget, I only started revision yesterday, by doing past papers! And then I realised how little I could remember... Not good.
Hopefully though, after a bit, I mean a lot of cramming, I think I have done all right on this paper.

Just have to wait and see for the results though I suppose!

Wednesday, 26 May 2010

So...

I'm running out of ideas for blog titles!

Ah well.

I went out with my mum today... bad idea.
I knew I should have stayed home and actually revised, because when I did get home I did a past paper from both maths and physics and realised that I probably am going to fail unless I learn quite a few definitions of things and proofs.

Aargh, I wish I had started revising last week, instead of messing around doing nothing. It's my own fault, but I never seem to learn from my mistakes.

Tuesday, 25 May 2010

The hills are alive with the sound of...

...Failure.

I realised today that I really am going to fail my physics resit exam. And probably my maths as well, but I am a bit better at maths than physics!

I went into school today for a music revision session, and to have a sing in choir, and I took some physics past papers with me to do as well. When I first looked at them I couldn't remember any of it. I started doing one of them, and I honestly did about 4 questions, even with the help of my textbook! So I am going to have to do a lot of revision with my notes!

I just can't seem to physically revise, but that's just me I suppose. Not so good if I want to go to uni though.

The truth...

Is always the best sometimes.

Well, there has been this girl that I have only know since March, but I liked her from the first time I saw her.
And then I found out that she is in the National Youth Choir of Wales as well, so my day just got better when she told me that.

I couldn't keep my feelings to myself, so I did tell one of my other friends who is also on nash that I liked her, and she did tell me that she would speak to one of the girl's friends to tell her for me.

Of course, this friend of mine, who is a bit dull, had forgotten to tell the friend of the girl, so I took it into my own hands to tell her myself.

Thing is, I didn't want to just tell her and scare her, so I realised that she has this lovely thing called Formspring, which lets you ask anonymous questions to people. So I did just tell her straight up on there how I felt, but of course she wanted to know who was asking. I gave her a few hints, and I think she managed to work out who I was just by me telling her that I was a girl!

She did work it out, and messaged me on Facebook about it, so we are talking now, and I'm pretty happy!

Joyful, Joyful...

(8) Joyful, joyful, Lord we adore thee.
God of glory, Lord of love.
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee,
Hail thee as the sun above... (8)

Oh, I am now beginning to love that song, it's awesome!

See, my choir, Greater Gwent Youth Choir, are collaboration with the Gospel Choir, and this is one of the pieces we are singing.
When the GGYC first saw this piece we were all quite scared, because this was not the sort of things we would usually do. We are mainly a very classical choir, and rarely step over the line into gospel music,  but we had to learn this along with an arrangement of Fix You by Coldplay, which is pretty lush!

Although, our rehearsal today was quite funny. One because the gospel choir had to sing two of our pieces, and two because of our attempt to sing their two songs!

Overall I did have a great day though, and I met a girl that I hadn't seen since I was about 11!

Roasting to death...

Oh my goodness!! I cannot believe how hot it has been today! Even walking around town in shorts and a vest I was still sweating!

I was meant to go to town with one of my mates that I haven't been out with for ages, but as I was about to leave to pick her up, she text me saying that her mum had told her to stay in and revise, so I was on my own again.

To try and avoid revision again, I asked all my friends on Facebook if they wanted to come out, but I only got one reply so decided just to head to town by myself. I did manage to get a lovely top and it was only £1! Bargain!

And now tomorrow I've got choir rehearsal all day so that is another excuse for not revising! I will get some done... eventually!

Friday, 21 May 2010

Sun sun sun...

Ok, so today I told myself that I was going to do some revision, and not get distracted by anything!

Well that didn't happen!
I was going to have a shower this morning, but as I was about to get up to have one, my friend Sam rang me asking if I could take him home from school so he could get a textbook for and exam he had this afternoon. So, being the good sport I am, I agreed to take him. As I was about to leave I got a text from my other friend James, asking what I was doing, and I told him, and he tagged along.

When we finally got to Sam's house, he came back out and rummaged through his bag, only to realise the textbook we had gone to his house to get was already in his bag! We did get a drink of cloudy lemonade out of the journey though!

So as I said, I was going to revise some music today, which basically involved listening to the pieces that we were doing while following the score, and learning the annotations along with it. But James said that he was fed up of revision so I agreed to go over his house and keep him entertained! I did take my music with me, so I just ended up colouring in parts of the score that I hadn't done yet.

We then ended up get even more bored than we were at the start of the day, and realised that it was too hot to stay in the garden, even though I do have some lovely tan lines now!
We wanted to go out, but most of out friends were in school either revising or they had an exam so we went and called on our other friend Sam (not the same one as above), who we dragged out to the sea wall to throw  rocks at other rocks!

And now I'm off to babysit my next door neighbours, this should be fun, although they do have an adorable dog!

If you are bored, have a look at some of the pictures from a photo shoot I did last month for the National Youth Choir of Wales...

And if you hadn't worked out who I am, I'm the short one with brown hair!

The miserables....

This was the first time I went back to school, and it was only for a couple hours.

You see, we finished, as I explained yesterday, last Friday for study leave, but unfortunately my music class had not finished learning our set works for our exam. So this meant we had to come in today to finish annotating our scores. It wasn't that bad, but something I could have done at home if I had just had the notes.

But then of course, I came home, and again... did no revision.
My first exam is in a week, and I am really not looking forward to it. It's my maths one, and I think that I am pretty good at maths, but there are some things that you cannot blag your way through and need to be learnt.

I am also owed a bit of money off my ex, but its proving quite difficult to get it out of him. Oh well...

Wednesday, 19 May 2010

This could be interesting...

Well now that I have a month off from school, I might as well make some use of my time.
Yeah I know, the reason I have the month off is to revise for my exams, but I detest revision, I just can't seem to physically do it.
So the time that I'm not revising I will put to good use and try and do one of these everyday. It will be a challenge, yes, but also good fun me thinks!

I might as well get started now then...

On Monday I have an excuse for not revising... sort of.
We have this 'lovely' cream carpet in the hall, up the stairs and on the landing, and my parents wanted it cleaned. Of course, my mother did say to the cleaners that the colours probably wasn't one of her better choices.
Anyway, they had to start quite early as it would take 4 hours to dry, so my parents gave me 2 choices. Either stay in my bedroom for 4 hours, not even being able to get out to go to the bathroom, or get out of the house for a while.
So what did I chose? The second option of course! So this meant I was out in town for about 3 hours, until I got bored, which I do quite often!

My excuse for not revising yesterday was that as I was about to revise (honest!), my friend invited me round his because we were both bored! Of course, when his mum got home she presumed that we had been revising due to the sprawled out maths papers left on the kitchen table, when in fact we had been to McDonald's and sat in the garden doing nothing!
We then decided that we were even more bored so went and picked up one of out other mates and went to the park for a bit. Being the teenagers that we are, we soon got bored with the park, but not after we did some physics 'revision' involving a spinning swing and a phone! We headed to Tesco and just sat in the car park talking about stuff that teenagers do (I won't go into detail! There might be children reading!).

And then today my excuse was that I went to Alton Towers! I had a brilliant day, even if I was walking around for most of the day with a headache!

Hopefully tomorrow I should get some revision done, I have to go to school anyway so I'm pretty sure I will!

oh, and the fact that I am considering turning gay because of it...

Sunday, 21 March 2010

Long time, no see..

Well, a lot has happened in the 2 months I haven't been on here:
  • I am no longer with my boyfriend. We broke up last month, after he accused me of lying. That is all I am saying on this matter.
  • I passed my driving test!! So I am out and about on the roads of South Wales, but don't worry, but driving isn't that bad!
  • I recieved my January module results last week. I got a B in maths, a C in Physics, and a C in Product Design. However, after discussion with my teachers, I am only going to resit Physics. My Maths teacher said that a B isn't that bad, and as long as I get over 80% in my other modules then I will get an A. My Product Design teacher said that as long as my coursework is good, then I will get a good grade without having to resit.
And on Monday I am off to the Celtic Manor (where the 2010 Ryder Cup is being held), but im not playing golf!
I'm doing a young engineers scheme, and we have to present our findings to some judges. My team, though, were really disappointed with the project we got, so we are going to ask out teacher nicely if we can do it again next year.

2 down, 1 to go!

Well, that is 2 exams out of the way this week.

On Monday I had Maths C1. It wasn't as bad as I thought to be honest, although some of the questions were a bit, 'OMG, shit! I wish i had revised that bit!' Because unless you had, there would have been no way to work out the answer unless you knew how to do it!

We don't get official study leave for January exams, but the school are nice and let you have the day before an exam off, to revise.

I had Physics PH1 on Wednesday, so I had Tuesday off school, and I spent the day at home 'revising'.
Of course, you give anyone the day off school and they wouldn't choose to revise. So I spend the day with my boyfriend, doing absolutely nothing!
But I then realised that night that I should have actually done some revision during the day, so, about half an hour before I was meant to go to bed I picked up my textbook and managed to learn the meaning of one equation.

And, thankfully, I'm glad I did learn it because it did come up in the exam!
Considering I didn't do much revision, I didn't find the exam that difficult. But there were a few questions which you had to know the definitions of, which I didn't learn! Oops!!

My next exam is Product Design on Wednesday, which means I get Tuesday off to 'revise'!
I don't find it that difficult, it's just our teachers haven't gone through how to answer the paper with us, so at the moment out class really don't know what we are doing.

Now I have maths and physics homework to do by Monday, but I am going to Cardiff tomorrow for some retail therapy!

SNOW!!

What an awesome week!!

Now you are probably wondering what the hell I'm going on about. Well us lucky lot in Britain have had a lovely week of snow!
That has meant almost a week off for all us school goers!

I wasn't complaining though! I have a maths exam on Monday, and did absolutely no revision what-so-ever over the Christmas holiday, so I have actually managed to get some done this week!

Problem is, it's meant to snow on Sunday, and my school has told me that I have to go in for the exam anyway, even if the school is closed :(

Ah well, at least I'll get it out of the way :)
